Luxury real estate "a long-term commitment worth making" 24 January 2012 12:16 Luxury international property developer Nick Candy believes that top-end residential real estate investments are as good a bet as any in the current economic climate and that “if you invest in the very best real estate you will do very, very well" and ride out the ups and downs of the markets.
Speaking to CNBC this week, Candy argues that “shrewd investors with access to capital’ are increasingly viewing luxury property developments as “a long-term commitment worth making.”
His company, Candy & Candy, whose One Hyde Park apartment block in central London is one of the most expensive addresses in the world, and where a penthouse can cost up to $215 million, is marketing luxury property not just as somewhere wonderful to live, but also as a wise investment that can be passed down from generation to generation.
"People are buying for the long term," he says.
Today's newsletter is aimed squarely at UK residents with some great news..... We are all aware of the Pensions crisis, but did you know that you can set up your own, new, self-investing personal pension and HMRC will top up whatever you invest by up to 40%? This applies not just with any new deposit, but with any regular payments that you may wish to subsequently contribute. To illustrate this simply:
Open SIPP and deposit £10,000 HMRC adds £2,000 (20%) immediately Further £2,000 (20%) can be drawn back against tax via self-assessment by higher rate taxpayers An effective £14,000 investment fund with only £10,000 of your own money Once your SIPP is open and funded, you can choose what asset classes you want to invest in. These can include classic "equities" as well as Bonds, Gold, commercial property, alternative investments and much more. All of this fund, including the HMRC contribution, can be invested in any qualifying investment product
Unless you are prepared to pay more into already underperforming pensions, SIPPs offer a viable solution for your future finances whereby YOU take control of YOUR pension investment.
Many of or investments are SIPP approved . Contact us for a free pension review by a FSA approved pensions adviser.
